We reached the campsite at Boulder Basin (5600 ft ) by 5 pm, nearly 8.5 miles from the trailhead. A cold snowmelt stream nearby (not the main creek from the toe of the glacier) providing refreshing, ice-cold filtered water. After dinner, we made plans to leave for the summit early the next morning, and watched a fine sunset before retiring for the night.
