From the top of the bowl we traversed right to do an end-run around the bergschrund, the massive crevasse at the head of the Emmons-Winthrop glaciers along the edge of the summit dome. The massive, broken blocks shown here tower over 100 feet above our traverse path, with a large tunnel visible beneath one of the bridged blocks.
