We skied up a series of gentle rolls along Heliotrope Ridge and then just above 7000 ft, made a long traverse onto the west edge of the Coleman Glacier, descending less than 50 feet. Here the smooth uncrevassed snow slopes of the glacier margin meet the rocky lava pinnacles that mark the uppper portion of the crest of Heliotrope Ridge.
