In 1998 we headed down to Mount Adams again. This time we planned a one-day ski trip instead of an overnight as in 1997, climbing the South Rib and skiing down the Southwest Chutes. Due to the later date and lower snowfall, we could drive all the way to the trailhead at Cold Springs, although the last few miles of road looked more like a dry streambed. We car-camped overnight, and headed up at about 7 AM on Sunday. This is a view looking south at Mount Hood early in the morning.
