Reviews Bryan Pressnall (Pinecrest, CA): Lassen gets a lot more than the 250" listed in the Profile. Sometimes the snowbanks along the road are deeper than that. Great tele terrain on Lassen Peak, Ski Heil Peak, Mt Diller, Brokeoff Mountain, and everything in between. The south side of Brokeoff has an awesome moderate pitch corn run. The north side of Diller has a great run down through avalanche cleared terrain. And the northeast side of Lassen Peak provides probably the finest skiing in the Park. Lassen Peak is best in Spring Conditions. For powder try the lower knobs north of Brokeoff. For totally radical terrain take a look at the north face of Brokeoff.

JOHS: Lassen is a great cross-country area. Try the north entrance, or better yet Butte Lake. The Manzanita Lake rangers are really friendly and can fill you in on some good ski and ski camping locations.

Alex Lester: I skied Lassen Park last august. I had the time of my life there!

Jim Welborn: We just got back from Lassen and there was a ton of snow. I took the family to the chalet and went up the park road from there. I had my 4 year old son and my wife and we were out for a picnic. The weather was great and the views were fabulous. We had lunch just above the sulfur works and then my wife followed a group of skiers up the road and I entertained my young one.

The park road has several areas above the sulfur works that are known for avalanches which we found out later. We decided to call it a day and on the way out I wanted to take one last trail and I went down the Mogowan lake trail, a much better trail for the kids. The terrain was great for everyone and it is well marked. Take care and happy skiing.

Doug Grabski: Mt. Lassen ski area is permanently closed. In fact, they took out the lifts a few years ago. Although the mountain has great snow for those who are willing to hike late in the season. There is a great trail that climbs 2,000 vertical feet to the summit in less than 2.5 miles. It's great around May and June.

Have you skied Lassen Park? Tell the world about it!

Hotspots Rachael Parker: I went to Lassen Volcanic National Park and had a great time. We stayed at the Lassen Mineral Lodge. They rent cross country ski's and snowshoes so you don't have to haul them up with you. The restaurant is great. And the rooms don't have TV's or phones, so no one can bother you. IT WAS GREAT!!!!!!
